Embroidery Inspiration and Where to Find It

The most important part of a stitch? An idea! A lot of my ideas come from things I am passionate about.
If you are just starting out or want to sharpen yours skills, pre-made patterns are an excellent place to start! They can help you pick colors and give you good stitches to practice until you are ready to come up with your own designs. Sometimes, a pre-made design is just too cute to pass up!
You can find pre-made designs like these HERE.
Another source of inspiration can be in the media. One of my favorite fandoms has to be Harry Potter and being able to bring the book world to life in thread is so much fun. You can go wild and make a magical creature the way you envisioned it or even trace out the cover art. The options are endless. This can apply to any book world or movie/tv franchise you love. I have done Star Wars to Hocus Pocus. It is about what you want to do. If you are not super pumped for a design, it can be hard to stay motivated to finish it. Embroidery is not a fast craft, but the feeling you get when a piece is complete makes it all worth it!
Another great inspiration is the natural world around you. I am a huge plant lady, we have about 12 in our house at the moment (would have more if my hubby let me!) and I love stitching my favorite plants. Nature scenery, animals are all great inspiration for designs.
Finally, a great inspiration can be found in words. From, quotes to phrases embroidering letters can be a chance to get creative with new stitches that you may not have done before. Or can provide a fun little quick stitch. I love making these for gifts so they are personal to the recipient.
Overall, I hope you can find great inspiration that fuel your creativity.
